Causes of yellowing of stained veneer
Announcer:嘉善嘉垚  Views:3141

1. Dye discoloration

Dyed veneer is made by bleaching natural veneer and then dyeing it with dyes through a complex process

Dyed veneer will change color after sun exposure, which is closely related to the dye itself

The main reasons are as follows:

1. After sun exposure, the chemical bond in the dye changes or its structure changes, resulting in discoloration;

2. The light causes the electrons of the chromophore to undergo transitions, thereby producing a color change.

In addition to the influence of the discoloration of the dye itself, the dyeing process, fixing agent, and soaping agent also have a crucial influence.

2. Yellowing of veneer

In the production process of dyed veneer, natural veneer is bleached before dyeing.

During the bleaching process, the veneer fiber will leave a lot of bleach residue

The stained veneer is prone to yellowing after sun exposure

Dyed veneer has many advantages. For most furniture companies, it is more about how to apply it scientifically and reasonably.

Next, from the design requirements, raw material requirements, woodworking requirements, sizing and pressing requirements, paint requirements, etc., we will talk about the problems that need to be paid attention to in the practical application of dyed veneer.

Requirements for designers

▂Pay attention to the color selection and matching, try not to use dark colors as the main color, you can do embellishment;

Pay attention to the color matching of the sunrise area of the customer's home, and it should be noted on the drawing, and the factory can pay attention to it (special methods can be used to solve small area problems such as window covers, etc.)

Designers match colors according to the length of the sunrise time in the sunrise area, otherwise it is easy to cause the colors to be out of sync, and it is easy to appear yin and yang colors;

▅ As dyed veneer is a modern product, modern products rely on color matching (dark embellishment), the introduction of lights, and then hardware and smart components to be perfect.

Therefore, companies that produce modern products (dyeing veneer as the leading) will develop the perfect combination of colors, lights, hardware and smart components. Such as Muli Muwai, M77, etc.

Requirements for woodworking

BECAUSE the dyed veneer cannot be repaired, the defective veneer cannot be pasted, even if the silk is not skipped (lack of material is strictly prohibited), and there is a high demand for splicing;

After the dyed veneer is chemically impregnated, the material is very soft, there should be no scratches, and slight scratches can be treated with special methods;

Pay attention to the leather trimming: because the color of each batch of dyed veneer has color difference, the same model of the same company must be the same batch, otherwise the color difference will be quite obvious;

▅ No matter which process the dyed veneer products are in, they should be fast flowed. Before spraying paint, they should be protected from light and stacked neatly. If some are exposed to light and some are not exposed to light, it will cause inconsistent oxidation and color difference.

Woodworking work surfaces must be covered with soft carpets to prevent irreparable scratches.

Requirements for paint process

BE sure to pay attention to the color of the putty when entering the white blank to make up the putty. After the dyed veneer is chemically impregnated, the material is very soft and easy to be scratched and sanded.

Because dyed veneer is easy to change color, so the paint process must pay attention to the use of a release agent or a fixing agent before the primer, which can delay the color change time, and the head must be resistant to yellowing.

Whether it is primer or topcoat, the paint film should be as uniform as possible, otherwise the color change of the later product will be inconsistent.

Try not to repair or pay attention to the method when repairing (only point repair, not spreading to the surface), because the stained veneer is soft, and the sand penetration cannot be avoided, and lights and components must be installed.

Therefore, the product needs to be typeset and assembled before packaging, repaired before packaging, and installed with intelligent components.

Requirements for glue and pressing

DYED veneer is easy to crack and discolor during the process of dip dyeing and color change processing, so it is best to use fast-drying high-quality veneer to reduce damage to the veneer.

Special attention should be paid when hot pressing stained veneer: the time cannot be too long and the temperature cannot be too high!

It is recommended that the glue you use is flexible. During the hot pressing and cooling process, it will not cause the glue layer or veneer to crack due to thermal expansion and contraction or internal stress.

At the same time, it must have the characteristics of long open time, no glue overflow, high temperature resistance, short hot pressing time, no damage to the veneer, and high production efficiency.
